“In September I survived a devastating fire that destroyed much of my town, Talent, Oregon. As I walked through the streets post-fire, I was haunted by the dead, missing, and blackened trees. Isolation, fear, and loss were the hallmarks of 2020 and continues for many of us to the present. My new embroidery on paper collage pieces, titled “Ghost Trees,” grew out of a need to express and connect during this collective/personal trauma.” ~Summer Lewis
